Throwback Video Of The Week: Def Leppard “Photograph”
The second album I bought with my own money was Def Leppard’s Pyromania. I wasn’t quite ten-years-old yet when it came out in January of 1983. It was a great addition to my small but growing cassette collection.
I still remember that the second song on Side One was “Photograph,” the first of many chart-topping hits for Def Leppard. Since its release, the song has been performed on every one of their tours. It’s usually the final song of the encore.
According to Songfacts, lead singer Joe Elliott would sometimes dedicate “Photograph” to Marilyn Monroe when Def Leppard performed the song live. The video features several appearances by a Marilyn look-alike.
