If you live in Charlotte, you’ve definitely seen tent city. Tent City is a temporary housing facility made using tents or other temporary structures to house people currently experiencing homelessness in and around Charlotte.

If you’ve wanted to help out and support the community, this weekend, there is a great opportunity to do so.

This weekend, there is a benefit concert and donation drive to help the tent city community. It’s called the, “For The People BeneFEST.” The event is at Camp North End between 12 PM and 5:30 PM on Saturday, March 6th. You can stop by between those times to drop off donation items and enjoy performances from Charlotte-based musicians and poets.

These are the items that need to be donated:

  • LYSOL WIPES
  • HAND SANITIZER
  • LARGE TRASH BAGS
  • BODY SOAP/WASH
  • DEODORANT
  • SOCKS
  • WAGONS/HAND TRUCKS

If you can’t make it to the actual event, you can also make a monetary donation. You can CLICK HERE for more information on how to support Tent City.
