This ‘Coming 2 America’ Makeup Collection Celebrates African Beauty
Now that Coming 2 America is officially out, Uoma Beauty has launched a collection to celebrate the movie.
Per Yahoo, Uoma Beauty was created by Nigerian-born beauty exec Sharon Chuter. And her team was approached by Eddie Murphy’s team to collaborate and work on the film. This is huge, considering Uoma Beauty is only the second Black-owned brand to have an exclusive partnership with a major Hollywood film.
The outlet describes the collection, saying, “The Black Magic Coming 2 America collection features a sultry array of lipstick and liners, dazzling shadows, and a pearl-infused highlighter palette, all of which were inspired by the lush scenery of fictional Zamunda and the decadent adornment of Black bodies.”
They add that the campaign pays homage to the African royalty who paved the way for their people and left behind legacies. The campaign is also produced by makeup artist Sir John, stylist Zerina Akers, and photographer Trevor Stuurman, the creative team for Beyoncé’s Black Is King.
Uoma Beauty’s Coming 2 America makeup collection includes palettes, lipsticks, eyeliners, and more. Items can be purchased on the Uoma Beauty website, Ulta Beauty, and Nordstrom.
