Katie Couric Becomes The First Female ‘Jeopardy!’ Host
Katie Couric made history yesterday when she began her two-week guest-host run on Jeopardy!, becoming the first woman to ever host the show — on International Women’s Day, too!
Since Alex Trebek’s passing last November after his battle with pancreatic cancer, only “Greatest of All Time” Jeopardy! champion Ken Jennings and the show’s executive producer Mike Richards have taken over hosting duties.
On last night’s episode, Couric announced that they would match the contestants’ winnings and make a donation to Stand Up To Cancer’s Pancreatic Dream Team. They raised $26,201 so far, Yahoo! Entertainment reports.

Katie Couric is, unsurprisingly so, doing a fine job hosting. She’s great. And it was sad-hilarious to me to see all the conservative opposition to her on the Jeopardy! Facebook page. Again, unsurprisingly so.#Jeopardy

I don’t know why, but I’m finding Katie Couric oddly comforting as the guest host of Jeopardy. She’s my favorite so far

All these people saying that they won't watch the show with Katie Couric hosting astound me! It should be obvious by now that Jeopardy is bigger than any particular host.

I want Katie Couric to tell me bedtime stories as I fall asleep. Her voice is so soothing. #Jeopardy

Couric won’t be the only woman to grace the Jeopardy! stage as host, as the Today show’s Savannah Guthrie and The Big Bang Theory‘s Mayim Bialik are slated to guest-host, Yahoo! Entertainment reports. The dates are yet to be determined.
