Kings Mountain Casino Slot Machines To Open This Summer
If you enjoy a bit of gambling, you aren’t going to have to drive far for it soon. The Catawba Nation announced it will fast-track the opening of the Catawba Two Kings Casino Resort project in Kings Mountain by opening a “pre-launch” facility. It’s slated to open this summer with 500 slot machines. The temporary casino, with slots and other games, will open first. About 18 more months of work will be needed for the full resort to be complete.
Size wise, the casino will cover 17 acres in Kings Mountain off Dixon School Road. It’ll be close to I85 and about 35 miles west of Charlotte. Close to $300 million will be spent constructing the casino and full and part-time jobs will need to be filled. Of course, lots of construction jobs will be available while building the structures. Local leaders and leaders of the Catawba Nation say that the casino as a whole should be open as early as next spring or summer.
This is going to be awesome for the Kings Mountain community and for the surrounding area. Kings Mountain is a lot closer than Cherokee, so folks in our area won’t have to drive as far to have some fun. I have no doubt that along with the slot machines and games, that live entertainment will be scheduled as well, once the pandemic settles down.
I’ve never been much of a gambler. I went to Las Vegas once for work and spent $40 playing the “Wheel of Fortune” slot machine. I won nothing and walked away mad! LOL! I just never seem to have the “disposable income” that I think is needed for gambling. On the rock cruises I’ve been on, there’s always a casino on board. Never been my thing though. Too much math for me when it comes to gambling.
That said, I’ll definitely check the place out. Ya gotta when it’s so close. I’m sure it will be impressive. Here’s more info on the casino. Without question, it will be quite successful!
