Voting in Charlotte is Tomorrow: Here is What You Need to Know

Tomorrow is a big day. Voters across the Carolinas will head to the polls and we have the details on what you need to know before you go.

Tuesday, November 2nd is voting day for important municipal races. This is a municipal election for the towns of Cornelius, Davidson, Huntersville, Matthews, Mint Hill, Pineville, and Stallings. Voting will not include the city of Charlotte and the School Board. These were moved to 2022. Here are some things you need to know before you cast that essential vote. • Your ID Answer

  In 2019 according to a federal district court, North Carolina's voter ID requirement was blocked. So guess what? No ID is needed to vote. There won't be any ID requirements until the court lifts the injunction.

• When Can You Vote?

  The polls will be open from 6:30 AM until 7:30 PM

• Do You Need to Wear A Mask?

  Simple answer, yes. Wear your mask and keep yourself and others safe. The mask mandate is still in effect for multiple counties. If you have exemptions, please bring proof in case.
• Are You Eligible?

  We advise you to check before you go to vote in your local election. To be eligible to vote in a municipal election, make sure you have lived in that municipality for at least 30 days before Election Day.

• What Can You Wear to Vote?

  Anything! Seriously, but we don't recommend your PJs.

• Good Behavior Is A Must!

  Everyone is passionate about who they are voting for. We get that. However, if you are screaming, yelling, or acting out about who to vote for that is not allowed.
• Voting Selfie?

  Share

  We get you to want that super cool voting selfie, but it is not allowed. According to the North Carolina State Board of Elections, it is 100% illegal in North Carolina to take a ballot photo.
