UNC Fan Goes All Out To Support The Tarheels This Weekend
I grew up a Tarheel fan. My dad went to Carolina and to say he’s a fan is an understatement. Growing up he drove Carolina blue cars, wore Carolina sweatshirts, and never missed a Tarheel game. My dad is such a fan that he’d yell at the T.V. when the Heel’s played and our African Grey Parrot picked up swear words when my dad was watching the games. I never thought I’d see a bigger Tarheel fan, but there’s a man in Salisbury that may be a bigger fan than my dad.
This weekend, for the first time, Duke and UNC will meet in The Final Four. If you grew up in the Carolina’s then you know that this will be an epic game. For fans of the Duke Blue Devils and the UNC Tar Heels this is a huge deal. And Carolina fan Ronnie Smith from Salisbury is beyond excited.
According to WBTV, Smith has been a Tarheel fan since he was 11 years old. He told WBTV, “You only live once and you have to take advantage of every opportunity and Carolina right now is the greatest thing I’ve ever done, except for getting married, maybe,” Smith joked.
Smith has a Carolina blue house with a Carolina blue bathroom inside. He also has blue birdboxes and blue flamingos outside. And this is the craziest thing: he got his dentist to put permanent Carolina Blue teeth in his mouth. His front two teeth are Carolina blue!
And this is my favorite thing: Smith wears the same shoes to every game and has since he bought the shoes in 1967! He says they have a 95% winning percentage. Smith and his wife are traveling to New Orleans for the game this weekend. He’ll be driving down in his white Mercedes with Carolina blue racing stripes.
Both Carolina fans and Duke fans are psyched for this match-up. I’m going with the Heels! I mean, I can’t have my dad disown me! LOL!
There’s a Carolina bathroom inside the house, blue birdboxes and blue flamingos outside, and the house itself is blue. And to give his fandom a little more bite, his two top teeth are blue. https://t.co/NTi58oHQfy
