Sea-Creature Rescue Center Coming To Concord
You may have heard me say this, cause I say it often, the ocean amazes me. The vastness and its inhabitants just are so interesting to me. And I know others like it too which is why this is so cool! A new sea-creature rescue center is coming to Charlotte.
According to the Charlotte Observer, the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center in Surf City are partnering with Sea Life Charlotte-Concord aquarium to open a Creature Rescue Center.
The first resident will be a male sea turtle named Canal. The turtle was injured by a boating strike and is unable to be released into the ocean. The canal is around 8-11 years old and weighs over 21 pounds. Sea Life is just now breaking ground on the 5,000-gallon exhibit that will house the turtle. Visitors will be able to learn about rehabilitating injured sea creatures and see the treatment and therapy when the attraction opens. The rescue said on social media the turtle will be moved this month.
