Ricky Martin Case Dismissed, Nephew Drops Charges
Ricky Martin just won his case against his nephew who accused him of domestic violence following a sexual relationship the two had, gossip website TMZ reports.
The 21-year-old nephew withdrew his claim and a source with direct knowledge told the gossip site that the judge dismissed the temporary restraining order that was issued a week ago.
This morning, the “Livin’ La Vida Loca” singer, 50, took to Twitter and wrote: “Truth prevails,” with a message from his legal team that said: “Just as we had anticipated, the temporary protection order was not extended by the court. The accuser confirmed to the court that his decision to dismiss the matter was his alone, without any outside influence or pressure.”
The legal team went on to say that his nephew, Dennis Yadiel Sanchez, confirmed that it was at his request to dismiss the case. “This was never anything more than a troubled individual making false allegations with absolutely nothing to substantiate them. We are glad that our client saw justice done and can now move forward with his life and his career.”
Truth prevails.

As we earlier reported, the singer-songwriter was facing up to 50 years behind bars due to the charges associated with incest in Puerto Rico. According to Sanchez, Ricky, 50, exercised physical and psychological attacks on him in the relationship they had for seven months. When the nephew allegedly ended the relationship, Ricky did not accept it and continued to contact him and show up at his home.
