Festival In The Park Returning To Freedom Park This Fall
As a kid I grew up in both Charlotte and Gastonia. My mom lived in Charlotte and my dad lived in Gastonia. For a few years my mom lived very close to Freedom Park and I have great memories of going there. Yearly we’d go to the ‘Festival in the Park’ and I remember having so much fun!
The 58th Annual Festival in the Park will happen Friday, September 16 thru Sunday, September 18 this year. The event is free and there’s something for everyone. You’ll be able to check out hundreds of local artists and craft exhibitors as well as over 1,000 entertainers. There will be lots of various food vendors and a kid zone as well.
According to Axios Charlotte, the event is expected to attract over 85,000 people this year. In 2021 the festival took place but on a smaller scale, so this year will be the first time it’s back fully since the pandemic.
When we would go as kids, I remember walking around eating cotton candy and getting my face painted. I also remember the awesome swings and merry-go-round at the park. So much fun! I miss those carefree days!
If you’re a music fan and like the Eagles, ‘The Ultimate Eagles Tribute Band – On the Border’ will be playing Saturday night. A buddy of mine sings for the band and they’re really good! Always entertaining.
Parking is limited, so folks are encouraged to carpool to the event. The organizers recommend folks get dropped off at 2435 Cumberland Avenue or 1600 Princeton Avenue. Find out more about the festival here.
Join us at the 58th Annual Festival in the Park - a true Charlotte tradition! This free event is fun for the whole family and will have almost 200 artists, musical performances, and amazing food!
