Dress Donations For Teen Girls
Homecoming dances and prom season brings pressure to a young girl and her family. Staying in style is expensive for everyone, but especially for girls from low-income households. There is a 501C3 called, Believe in Yourself Foundation providing brand-new and never-worn dresses to low-income girls around the country. The group was launched in January 2017 working to promote positive body image, and reduce cyber bullying. We can take their lead and inspire girls in our families and neighborhoods to go after her dreams. Believe in Yourself Foundation will donate the dress, but tracks a young girls grades and progress in achieving goals.
The young girls are tracked to see their progress, whether towards improving their academics or pursuing an extracurricular interest such as music, dance and or sports. To be safe, always check out any groups helping our girls, or seeming to help. The charity brings in speakers and mentors to motivate the girls to believe in themselves. These mentors also provide tips if the girls are experiencing a negative body image or bullying of any kind.
