Fall Festival Benefiting Roof Above Nonprofit
October is by far the best weather and there’s events to attend. On Saturday, Oct. 22, the community is invited to celebrate Fall Fest at Quail Hollow Presbyterian Church from 11am-3pm. There will be food trucks, raffles, crafts, a bake sale, and children’s activities, including face painting, a scavenger hunt, a corn maze, and more. Admission is free. Proceeds and donations benefit Roof Above. Roof Above serves 1,200 people in Charlotte experiencing homelessness and extreme poverty. This non-profit is boots on the ground with street outreach and basic services, to shelter and housing. They offer two year-round emergency shelters for those who identify as male in Mecklenburg County, providing over 400 emergency shelter beds nightly Tryon Shelter (1210 N. Tryon St.) & Howard Levine Men’s Shelter (3406 Statesville Ave). The basics of our emergency shelter include: beds, meals, showers, laundry services.
The festival boasts a variety of music – R&B, Jazz, Bluegrass, Gospel, Celtic, and more. Featured bands are A Sign of the Times, The Fiddler and the Flutist, The Quail Hollow Band and Two Trailers Down. All activities are on the front lawn of the Church, 8801 Park Road in Charlotte.
