LUNG FORCE Turquoise Tasting Event
This Duke Mansion event sounds like fun. Mark your calendars for Thursday, October 13 at 6:30 p.m. to attend North Carolina American Lung Association. LUNG FORCE Turquoise Tasting supports those impacted by lung cancer. The two major types of lung cancer are non-small cell lung cancer and small cell lung cancer. Causes of lung cancer include smoking, secondhand smoke, exposure to certain toxins, and family history. Symptoms include coughing that is often with blood. Also chest pains, wheezing, and weight loss. But, these symptoms often don’t appear until the cancer is advanced.Treatments include surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, targeted drug therapy, and other therapies. WHAT: As a cocktail reception, Turquoise Tasting includes food and beverage pairings, a silent auction, live music, putting green and other fun interactive activities.

WHY: Money raised at the Turquoise Tasting will support the Lung Association’s efforts to end lung cancer by funding lung cancer research, raising awareness for lung cancer screening, helping people quit smoking, providing resources to people with lung cancer and more.
