‘Food Disgust Sensitivity Test’ Going Viral And It Reveals What Grosses You Out
Phil and I have chatted many times on-air about my ‘particular’ issues with food contamination. I wouldn’t say I’m OCD, but I’m definitely hyper-sensitive about germs. When I cook I have to chop all my veggies first on a cutting board before cutting raw meat on it. Yes, I’m aware it will all be cooked in the same pot. But for me, it’s cross contamination if the meat is cut first! Now there’s a food test that will determine what grosses you out about food.
Yesterday, Phil and I both took the test and scored about the same. But I re-took it today and scored higher than Phil. Phil’s score was around 47%. My score is 68%. I’m very particular about fruits and veggies past their prime. And if there are bugs or mold around food, I’m out!
The test is going viral on Twitter and thousands of people are having fun taking it. According to Today, the test was developed by IDRlabs and they created the Food Disgust Scale. The scale covers eight categories: animal flesh, hygiene, human contaminants, mold, fruit, fish, vegetables, and insect contaminants.
Once you take the test, you’ll get a score and an explanation of what grosses you out. It explains the triggers to you and lets you know what you find particularly gross. With my score being 68%, my food disgust level is ‘elevated’ which seems correct.
Obviously, you should take the test score with a grain of salt but mine seems accurate. Software engineer @buttpraxis posted the test on Twitter and thousands of people have taken it and shared their results. You can take the test here. There are 32 questions, but it won’t take you long to find out your ‘disgust’ level.
This test tells you how grossed out you are by certain foods and food-related situations, using eight categories to do so: animal flesh, hygiene, human contaminants, mold, fruit, fish, vegetables and insect contaminants.https://t.co/Wjx5AlsS6b
