Celebrate ‘National Donut Day’ Here In The Carolinas Friday
Phil and I talk about the number of ‘National Donut Days’ we have in our country. Same with ‘National Pancake Day’. There seems to be numerous days for both. This Friday, June 2, is ‘National Donut Day’ and Krispy Kreme and Dunkin have you covered.
According to People, freebies are available at both of the popular chain donut restaurants. Krispy Kreme, which is a North Carolina favorite, is giving out a free donut to celebrate. No purchase is necessary, which makes it even better! And if you order a dozen donuts, you can get $2 glazed dozens. There’s one Krispy Kreme location in Gastonia, where I live, and there’s a line around that place all the time!
I give Krispy Kreme some credit! Over the last year or so they’ve come out with great deals for all kinds of special occasions. They’ve also come out with some fun specialty donuts for different occasions. Their ‘Thanksgiving Mini-Pie’ donuts that Phil and I tried last year were really, really good!
If you’re more of a Dunkin fan, on Friday, customers can order a free classic donut with the purchase of any drink. I’m more of a Dunkin’ fan personally. Love their coffee! ‘Dunks’ as it’s affectionally called in Massachusetts, has cake donuts that I love. The blueberry donut and the pumpkin spice donut are delicious, and they also have some tasty breakfast sandwiches and wraps. Their bagels aren’t bad either in a pinch.
A few years ago ‘SNL’ did a parody Dunkin commercial with Ben Affleck’s younger brother Casey, and Phil and I watch it every few months. It’s hilarious! You can see it below.
