‘Roosterlympics’ In Gastonia This Weekend To Benefit Webb Street School
This past weekend I checked out a relatively new venue in Gastonia called The Rooster. Many of my friends have seen bands there and I was hearing great things about the place. It’s a cool spot and I love the decor! The venue offers great bands, an open mic night, a comedy night and more! I’m all about helping out local businesses and artists in my hometown! Which is why I’ll be at The Rooster this Saturday for their ‘Roosterlympics’ event to benefit the Webb Street School.
This Saturday, June 24, The Rooster along with Creative Music Management is helping to make a difference in the community. ‘Roosterlympics’ will begin at noon on Saturday and the family friendly event will have music, games, and more! Proceeds from this event will benefit Webb Street School, which is a school for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The school offers education and social interaction that would otherwise be unavailable to them. The benefit Saturday is raising funds for adaptive equipment for the school.
12 bands are playing Saturday and they’ll be games for kids and adults. Come out and play cornhole, beer pong, and if you’ve got a loud voice, you can even compete in a rooster calling contest. I gotta see that! In addition, there will also be a Rock, Papper, Scissors contest. Love it!
Food trucks will be on hand, and you can check out local artisans as well. Doors open at noon on Saturday, with live music starting at 2 p.m. Tickets are only $10 for the event and you can also purchase $5 raffle tickets. Three guitars are up for grabs in the raffle, so if you’ve always wanted a guitar, here’s your chance to score!
Thanks to Creative Music Management, First Horizon Bank, Rocklab Records, Kingsway, Sun Drop, The Threshold, and Urban Woodstock for sponsoring this amazing event! Since the event is for such a great cause, tickets may sell out. You can buy tickets in advance now here.
I’m not sure what time I’ll go out Saturday, however, I’ll definitely be there! If you love helping local folks, this event is a must! Hope to see you on Saturday!
