North Carolina DMV Will Offer Services In Local Grocery Stores This Fall
The DMV is a place most of us dread going to. And it doesn’t matter what state you live in, all DMV’s have long lines and quite frankly, all are a pain in the ass. As with many businesses right now, the North Carolina DMV is dealing with a staffing issue. According to WCNC, doing business at the DMV will become easier this fall. They are planning to add kiosks in local grocery stores to reduce the time folks wait in line.
As a general rule, most of us don’t need to go to the DMV that often. If you live in North Carolina, usually you only need to physically go to the DMV if you buy a new car or sell a car. Although, most of us can do our business online now. Many people aren’t aware of all of the online services the DMV offers. This adds to the long lines at different locations around the state.
This fall, the DMV is hoping to have kiosks in local grocery stores in order to reduce physical visits to the DMV. What a great idea! You can do some one-stop-shopping!
Here are some tips to navigate the DMV in North Carolina:
- See if you can handle your business online by checking the site.
- If it must be done online, ask yourself if you have three months or more to get the service done. If yes, create an appointment.
- If you can’t do your business online, find a location near you and use the DMV’s walk-in wait time tool.
- Choose the office type or visit you need.
- When visiting a DMV location, find the QR Code at the front of the DMV office to check in and be placed in line.
