Did you catch this recent news report in North Carolina? Four people went to a local hospital after trying to get into a fishing boat on the coast. A North Carolina dock collapsed at the beach sending a dozen people into the water.
According to the News and Observer, several people are recovering from minor injuries after the dock collapsed at Atlantic Beach. Atlantic Beach is one of the five areas located on Bogue Banks. Authorities say they were trying to get in a fishing boat when it happened.
What caused the collapse? A 12-foot section of the dock at Captain Stacy Fishing Center reportedly fell. Chief Jeff Harvey of the Atlantic Beach Police Department reportedly says 8 to 12 people were thrown in the water and two to three had injuries.
Captain Stacy Fishing Center had this to say on their social media page, “Safety of our valued staff and visitors is always our top priority, and we are grateful to report that there were no major injuries resulting from this unfortunate event.” This North Carolina dock collapsed at the beach sending a dozen people into the water.
So if you are like me you are thinking, what in the world caused the collapse? Right now the cause is unknown to what led to the collapsing of the deck. The dock has been closed and building inspectors are aware of the incident. Hopefully, they are able to get this looked at and back up and running.
