Southerners Love The Publix Sub For Good Reasons And I’m A Big Fan
First off, let me say that I’m a big fan of Publix. Secondly, let me say that this is not an paid promotional blog. I’m actually a big fan of the Southern based grocery store. Depending on what you’re shopping for, Publix can be a bit more expensive, but the quality of their products makes it worth it. You know I’m a huge proponent of a good sandwich, and when I am in the mood for a sub, Publix is my go to.
According to Southern Living, Publix subs, or ‘Pub Subs’, are quite popular here in the South. The store uses fresh baked bread, fresh veggies, and yummy meats and cheeses, all of which you can add or leave off, depending on your tastes. Their tuna salad sub is really good as it doesn’t have too much mayo. I’m not a fan of overly dressed tuna and chicken salads. Of course, if you’re a mayo fan, you can always have it added to your bread of choice when ordering a sub.
The Publix deli offers numerous options for their subs, and you can order it hot or cold. One of the things that I love about their subs is that you can order one relatively early. For instance, last Saturday I was doing errands early, and got hungry around 9 a.m. My dogs wake me up around 5:30 a.m., even on the weekends, so I’m usually up early. I needed a few things from the grocery store and since I was hungry, I went to Publix. I ordered an Italian sub, and ate half for breakfast. After doing morning radio for 20 years, I’m all about eating lunch foods early.
Even though there’s numerous sandwich spots in Gastonia, if I’m in the mood for a sub, I usually go to Publix. I’ve never had a bad sandwich! I’m able to add what I want on my sub and I can watch them construct it. One of the most popular subs at the Publix deli is their ‘Chicken Tender Sub’. I’ve had it once, and I must admit, it’s tasty! Although I like the tenders from Publix on their own better.
Sandwiches aren’t the only reason I hit the Publix deli. If I’m in the mood for fried chicken, I usually go to Publix instead of a fast food chicken restaurant. If you’ve never tried their fried chicken, you’re missing out! I’ll get a fried chicken breast or two, the deli red potato salad, and I’ve got a yummy meal! Everything I’ve had from the Publix deli is great!
If you’re a fan of dips, the Publix ‘Spinach Dip’ is absolutely delicious! I rarely buy it because I’ll eat it so quickly! It’s great with cut up bread, veggies, or even on a sandwich. Their ‘Buffalo Chicken Dip’ is also amazing! With football season starting, these two dips are must haves for game day, whether you’re watching the game at home or tailgating.
If you’re out and about this weekend and get a craving for a sandwich, try hitting the Publix deli. Heads up though, if you go close to noon, you’ll probably experience a bit of a line. The sandwiches are quite popular. Another reason I get mine early is so that I can skip the line! LOL! If you’re having friends over to watch football this weekend, check out the stores numerous array of dips. You won’t be disappointed.
Publix is popular for a reason here in the South; it’s good! If you’re in a rush, you can also order their subs online ahead of time, and run in to pick it up. Convenient and tasty!
