The 56th Annual Southern Christmas Show Announces This Year’s Theme
September is flying by and before you know it, the holiday season will be upon us. One of the most popular events here in Charlotte is the ‘Southern Christmas Show’. This year will be the shows 56th year, and they’ve announced their theme for this years event.
According to WSOC, the show is returning to the Park Expo and Conference Center here in Charlotte, November 9-19. This year’s them is ‘Nauti or Nice’, featuring nautical-inspired décor. There will be a nautical-inspired entrance way displaying lots of costal Christmas cheer. At first, I wasn’t a fan of this theme, but the more I thought about it, the more I liked the idea.
There are so many cute Christmas shops at the beaches in North and South Carolina, and most of us try and hit the beach at least once a year. Totally a fan of this theme! If you’ve never been to the ‘Southern Christmas Show’, it’s a must! Especially if you love shopping and eating!
Get Your Christmas Lists Together
At this year’s event, more than 400 holiday merchants, designer rooms, and food vendors will be on site. There’s so much shopping to be had at this event. Folks will be selling clothing, jewelry, crafts, food items and more. Of course, no ‘Southern Christmas Show’ would be complete without Santa Claus! And he’ll be making appearances.
In addition to all the wonderful shopping, there’s also entertainment. Choirs, musicians, and entertainers will be performing on the LeafFilter Holiday Entertainment Stage. If you’re into people watching, the ‘Southern Christmas Show’ is perfect! It’s a trip to see friends dress alike and enjoy the show. You’ll see a lot of ‘mee-maws’ in cute sweaters and matching shoes shopping silly.
You can get a sneak peek at the show during a special Preview Night on Nov. 8, from 5 to 9 p.m. A portion of each ticket sale for Preview Night will be donated to the show’s charity partner The Sandbox, which supports families who have children with cancer or other life-altering illnesses. Attendees will enjoy free parking and hors d’oeuvres. The first 250 shoppers will take home a special keepsake ornament. Tickets for Preview Night are $26 online and at the door.
If you’re like me and get a bit overwhelmed at crowds, the show is hosting an Early Bird VIP morning from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. on November 11. Cool! Tickets are $22 online and at the door.
All the info you need on the show is on the website. Just looking at it makes me giddy! Last year I put up my first snowman tree and decked out my apartment in all kinds of different snowmen. I’m looking forward to adding to my collection this year, and this event is the perfect shopping opportunity!
