Camelot Meadows In Gaston County Is A Gorgeous Spot For A Special Event
Living in Gastonia for so many years, you’d think I’d know all the cool spots. But I don’t! Yesterday I was the keynote speaker for the Gaston County Economic Committee and the Gaston Business Association’s ‘Women Who Rock’ event. Amazing event and I’m honored they asked me to be a part of it. The event was held at Camelot Meadows and what an amazing place!
Camelot Meadows is located in Belmont, and it is a spectacular spot for a special event. This place is so gorgeous that I almost wish I was getting married again just so I could have the wedding at this spot! The location is off Armstrong Road in Belmont, set away from any traffic. Once you drive down the winding gravel driveway, you feel like you’ve entered another world.
There are indoor and outdoor spots available for special events, and the setting is beautiful. Although I didn’t have time to take a tour, the owner, Deborah Baxa, was nice enough to take me into the bamboo forest on the property. The bamboo has been there for years and it’s a stunning area! You walk into it and you feel like you’re on a exotic vacation. Within the bamboo forest is an area for a special event or wedding. Currently, the event space is being made larger for bigger events. It’s wild to stand in this huge, tall bamboo forest! This spot is perfect for weddings, corporate events, and private parties.
You Can Also Vacation Here
In addition to being a breathtaking spot for all kinds of events, you can also get away from reality at Camelot Meadows. There are two overnight accommodations on the property. The ‘River Retreat’ offers accommodations for up to 8 overnight guests and features:

The second spot you can stay is in the ‘Tiny House’. This tiny house log cabin is in the woods, beside a creek, and there’s a beautiful lake view. It’s awesome! The ‘Tiny House’ is able to house up to 4 guests and it features:
-
a large bedroom

full kitchen
-
living area

sleeping loft

The nightly rental is $299 and includes the use of a golf cart. Pictures and details are here.
Tours of Camelot Meadows are available and I will tell you that you will be in awe after seeing all the amazing things on the property. Another thing I love is that the owner gives back to the community. They’re are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, providing educational experiences in nature to all youth (including disadvantaged and those with disabilities) who have limited exposure to local natural and open spaces.
After chatting with the owner Deborah, I was able to learn that she created her dream spot in honor of her husband, Dr. Mark Baxa, who passed away at an early age from brain cancer. I must say that she’s honoring his memory in a spectacular way!
Trust me when I tell you this place is fabulous! When folks are talking about ‘hidden gems’, this spot is one of them! You can get details about events and find out more about the property here.
