Johnson & Wales University Exposes CMS Students
Johnson & Wales University will welcome Charlotte Mecklenburg High Schools on their campus located at 801 West Trade Street, Charlotte, North Carolina on December 8, 2023. This will be their 4th Annual SEEM & Hospitality Career Awareness Forum. This is a great opportunity for 150 CMS high school students to interact with Johnson & Wales faculty, students, and alumni from local companies. These lucky students will be exposed to the many career paths in SEEM from 10 am to 1 pm. If this is your first time hearing about SEEM, it stands for Sports, Entertainment, and Events Management and Hospitality. During the forum and panel discussion, students will get firsthand advice from keynote speaker, Shalisa Shaw, founder and executive director of Black 2 Blacktop. Students will also hear from several prominent SEEM and hospitality community partners and Johnson and Wales alumni. Alumni include Bojangles, Center City Partners, GMR Marketing, Wasserman Agency, and The Westin Charlotte and Charlotte Marriott City Center.

During this event, panelists will share their expertise in their fields and offer advice regarding college and their motivations for selecting their career path. Following the panel discussion, students and teachers will explore a career exhibit including Johnson & Wales alumni from 10 local companies including CRVA & Visit Charlotte, NASCAR, and Tepper Sports and Entertainment.
