Sofia Vergara’s One Dating Rule
Sofía Vergara knows what she wants as she re-enters the dating scene. The Griselda star appeared on Wednesday night’s (January 24) episode of Watch What Happens Live, telling host Andy Cohen of her one dating rule. “To me, they can’t be younger than 50, I’m 51,” Vergara said. “Okay, 49.” As for what she’s looking for in a man, the Modern Family alum simply noted, “I’m intelligent.”
Recently, Vergara shared that her seven-year marriage to Magic Mike star Joe Manganiello ended because they weren’t on the same page about having children. Vergara, 51, told El País earlier this month that Manganiello, who is four years younger than her, “wanted to have kids, and I didn’t want to be an old mom.” She told the publication that his being younger and having different wants broke up the marriage. Sofia added that it wouldn’t be fair to the baby if she had a child with Manganiello at her age. Clarifying that she respects who does it, the actress added, “That’s not for me anymore.”

Vergara has a son, Manolo Gonzalez Vergara, from her previous marriage to Joe Gonzalez. She had Manolo at 19, and now that he is in his 30s, Vergara stated she is ready to be a grandmother, not a new mother. If love comes along, Vergara needs a man with his own kids because there’s no chance with her nearing menopause.
Also on Wednesday, Vergara appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show as part of her press tour for Griselda, which is now streaming on Netflix. While on the show, Clarkson hilariously messes with Vergara, telling her that her transformation into “The Cocaine Godmother” seemed like not much was done to her natural face. Gasping at her statement, Vergara says, “What! Are you crazy?!” She listed the wig, teeth, and plastic “from here to here” as all the different ways she had to transform into the unrecognizable character. Her sarcasm seems to go above Clarkson’s head, or perhaps she was playing along just as well. Either way, it was a hilarious part of her segment. Watch below:
