Tiny Homes Show Coming To Charlotte In April
For the last year or so a few of my friends and I have been talking about making our own ‘tiny homes’ community. A ‘Golden Girls’ type of community where we all have our own tiny home but share cooking duties and gardening duties. We’d have a big fence for our dogs to play and a fire pit in the center of our homes, so that we can have a drink by the fire. I totally love this idea! Living with your favorite people but still having your own space and privacy.
If you’re a fan of tiny homes, a festival is coming to our area soon. My friend Dana posted the info about the event on her Facebook page and when I saw it, I Googled the info. The Carolina Tiny Home Festival is happening at Charlotte Motor Speedway, April 13 & 14, from 10 A.M. to 5 P.M. If you’re interested in finding out about tiny home living, this is a must for you.
Looking at the website, there will be lots of stuff to check out. You’ll be able to take a tour of numerous tiny homes, learn about tiny home communities, meet tiny home builders, chat with some folks that currently live in a tiny home, and more. There will be fun stuff for the kids too!
Tiny Home Living Looks Amazing
There are lots of tiny home ‘influencers’ on social media, and I follow a few of them on Instagram. One of the accounts I follow features lots of different tiny home options, some are actually RV’s. One account, and I can’t remember the name at the moment, shows a family living in an amazing looking RV. The kitchen is bigger than mine in my apartment! The woman running the account works from home, so moving around isn’t an issue.
With rent rising all over the country, especially in Charlotte, tiny home living is something that lots of folks are interested in. Personally, I’d love to have my own home but monetarily I can’t afford it. Renting is great but my rent went up $300 a month in 2023, and more increases may happen this year. It’s a struggle for lots of people right now to have secure housing, especially if you live paycheck to paycheck. Tiny homes are becoming more popular as they’re affordable for many, and a great way to cut down on the cost of living.
If tiny home living is appealing to you, this is an event you’ll want to check out. I’m planning on going with a few of my friends. Tickets for the event are on sale now, and you can get more details on the event here.
