Caitlin Clark is no stranger to the spotlight. The former Iowa basketball star is now all the talk in the WNBA. Clark is on the Indiana Fever and had her WNBA debut on Tuesday (May 14). But, did you know that Caitlin Clarkâs boyfriend is also a basketball star?

Letâs get to know Caitlin Clarkâs boyfriend. Itâs a big time for both Clark and her boyfriend, Connor McCaffery. Clark just had her WNBA debut with the Indiana Fever. Meanwhile, McCaffery is busy with the Indiana Pacers, who are knee-deep in NBA playoff action against the New York Knicks. Clark went âInstagram officialâ about their relationship when she posted a photo of the two in August 2023 with the caption, âBest end to summer.â The photo showed the happy couple snuggled up together on a boat on a lake. So, letâs meet Caitlin Clarkâs boyfriend.
McCaffery is a basketball player and former Hawkeye, just like Clark. After graduating from the University of Iowa in May 2023, he snagged a job in professional sports as a team assistant to the NBAâs Indiana Pacers. He holds two bachelorâs degrees in finance and political science from the University of Iowa. Connor does a little of everything for the Indiana Pacers. âIâll play dummy defense, run the scout team, help coaches on film stuff, help on video projects if they need, scouting reports if they need,â he told the Des Moines Register. âWhatever youâre asked to do, be ready to do it.â
Connor played basketball for the University of Iowa for his entire time in college. He was a guard and also earned the teamâs Academic Excellence Award for five seasons. He also received a bunch of honors, including being crowned a five-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree, three-time NABC Honors Court, two-time Academic All-District First Team, two-time Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and NABC Honors Court honoree, according to Hawkeye Sports.
Basketball runs in the family for Caitlin Clarkâs boyfriend. His father is Fran McCaffery, head basketball coach at the University of Iowa. So, he was coached by his father. It kind of reminds me of how Michigan State University head coach Tom Izzoâs son has been playing on his team the past few years. Iâm a Spartan, so that instantly came to mind when I learned about Connor and his dad. In an interview with the Des Moines Register, he said that heâd like to learn everything he can about the NBA during his job with the Indiana Pacers. âItâs a way in,â Connor told the publication, adding that he has to âwork hard and work your way up.â I think theyâre an adorable couple and wish them all the happiness out there.
