Rent Pablo Escobar’s Jet on Airbnb for Only $1,055 a Night
Want to experience the luxurious life of a drug lord (minus the illegal activities, of course)? Well, now’s your chance because you can rent Pablo Escobar’s private plane on Airbnb for just $1,055 per night. You can now sleep where the famous Colombian kingpin once took his extravagant flights. And no, there is no secret stash of money aboard (at least, that’s what we think so), but it does offer a glimpse of the lavish lifestyle the “King of Cocaine” was known for.
Unusual Airbnb
According to The New York Post, the plane parked at Filton Airfield in Briston, England has two double bedrooms with adjoining toilets and showers. The design includes leather seats, walnut panelling and gold-plated showers and toilets. While it’s a decommissioned plane and has no wings or engines, all of its other airplane features still work such as the cockpit lights, airstairs, kitchen, and lighting.
“Live Like Billionaires”
Businessman Johnny Palmer who is responsible for converting the plane into an Airbnb told SWNS (per The Mirror), “There is a bit of a roleplay cosplay thing going on there — people enjoy that experience and living that fantasy for a little while and then living their normal lives. The contrast — billionaire and real life — is actually really healthy to people.”
Palmer also allows nearby residents to come and see the plane during open house days for a minimal fee which goes to local charities. “I like that it brings joy to people, and a lot of people have great nights on there. Kids are inspired by it. People come up here and take selfies with it.
If you can’t shell out $1,055 a night, you can still stay aboard the aircraft for its cheapest rate of $309 a night. You have to hurry though since peak booking times are in August and it’s reportedly usually booked the entire year.
Free Use
Palmer also mentioned via AOL that he lends the plane for free to artists if they will be using it to shoot music videos or other artistic and creative pursuits. He also mentioned that they are discreet when celebrities or any high-profile individuals book the luxurious Airbnb. “The whole point of it is that it is a very private space. Even if they did I would not say because respecting guest privacy is really important.”
Plans for a second bigger and better airplane are already underway. “This one will be bigger and much more impressive. And much higher and a bigger structure.”
