America’s Best Food City Is In North Carolina
When my family and I travel, food is always a consideration as we select our destination. That’s a big reason why we took the kids to New Orleans for spring break in 2018, and to New York City many times. This year, we won’t have to go nearly as far for a good food vacation.
User review site Yelp is out with their list of the Top U.S. Foodie Destinations for 2020 and, yes, New Orleans is on it. However, two cities in the Carolinas known for their vibrant culinary scenes also made the cut.
Yelp’s Data Science team ranked the cities based on ratings from visitors and which restaurants in those cities were favorites. Asheville, NC comes in at number one. Yelp calls it a “regional food powerhouse,” thanks to its slew of restaurants, breweries, and other food-related businesses. Perennial foodie favorite Charleston, SC is third on the list.
