First Name Keto Last Name Diet
Have you seen your friends who’ve been on Keto Diet lately well, they’re WINNING!!!! It seems it’s all about low-carb and high fat on the Keto Diet. Basically, the Keto diet is eating a grain-free, gluten-free, low-carb diet, that happens to be sugar-free which allows your body to tap into its fat stores and use fat as fuel, yep, fat as fuel. Good fats like olive oil, coconut oil, and avocado are encouraged. Since we’re in quarantine everything that smells, looks and feels like comfort food seems to win! I’m new to Keto, but have friends killin-it!
While you eat far fewer carbohydrates on a Keto diet, you maintain moderate protein consumption and may increase your intake of fat. The reduction in carb intake puts your body in a metabolic state called ketosis, where fat, from your diet and from your body, is burned for energy.
Who should not do Keto?
There are conversations and controversies, along with myths regarding a keto diet, but some people appear safe doing Keto, but others, not as much.
Do you take medication for diabetes, such as insulin? Medical professionals are against you doing a Keto diet.
Do you take medication for high blood pressure? Yes, Keto is not a good fit for you!
Do you breastfeed? Okay, we get it, Keto, isn’t for everyone.
