Florida Doctors Walkout In Protest Of Treated Unvaccinated Covid Patients
Health care workers have had a long 18 months and many are tired and frustrated. And the recent Covid surge isn’t making things better. Many health care professionals are blaming the unvaccinated for the surge. Monday, over 75 doctors in South Florida walked out protested over the number of unvaccinated patients flooding their hospital in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, MSNBC reported.
The frustrated Florida doctors hope to encourage people to “ignore the nonsense and the absurdities that you’re hearing people say at public meetings and recognize the value of what a vaccine will do,” according to Kerry Sanders. At this time 85 percent of ICU beds in the state are full. The gulf coast of Florida is currently a covid hot spot with low vaccination rates and what some have described as “lax safety measures”.
I can certainly understand their frustration but I do wonder what these doctors really think they will accomplish with this walkout. Doctors hope that the full approval of the Pfizer vaccines will help encourage people to get vaccinated.
