Halloween is quickly approaching and their are lots of fun festivals and events to attend! On October 28, at Stowe Park in Belmont, get ready for a fun-filled Halloween festival that will be fun for everyone in the family. ‘BooFest’ in Belmont is offering things for kids and adults.
According to gogastonnc.org, the event is offering activities for the kids, artisan vendors, lots of food vendors and plenty of candy for trick-o-treaters. Costumes can be worn if you and the kids want to go all out! Stowe Park is in the middle of downtown Belmont, so there are lots of restaurants and shops to check out too. During ‘BooFest’, the 3rd annual Howl-O-Ween will take place in the morning. Belmont’s cutest pups parade around Stowe Park in Halloween costumes. How cute!
This event is quite popular, so you may want to plan on heading out to the park early. ‘BooFest’ begins at 2 p.m. and goes until 7 p.m. If you’ve never been to Belmont, this is a great event to check out! Downtown is the perfect spot to walk around and shop. There are numerous eateries, bars, and cute shops to check out.
Checking out the ‘BooFest’ event page, they’ll be plenty of food vendors serving up everything from kettle corn to sandwiches. If shopping is your thing, you can check tons of local arts and crafts. Kids will love the face painting and festival rides.
Sponsors for the event are still being accepted! The deadline is October 23 and you can apply here. Parking info and more details on ‘Boofest’ are here. It’s a great family event with all kinds of cool stuff to do. And free candy is always a score!

Scared yet? Spooky season is upon us which means it’s time to plan your Halloween fun. And what is Halloween without visiting at least one Haunted House, trail, or attraction? Why watch a horror movie when you could experience it for yourself? There are many haunted attractions in North Carolina, so chances are there is one near you. Some are haunted houses or indoor mazes. Others are outdoors through corn mazes, woods, or perhaps lakeside. And the best part? Most of these haunted locations have a number of attractions so you get lots of scares for your money.
I’ve chosen to highlight six of the best-haunted attractions in North Carolina. These are all in the greater Charlotte region, within about an hour and a half drive from the Queen City. And even if some of these are a little far- they are worth the drive for sure! Each location on this list offers something unique and is either one I personally have visited or has come highly recommended by friends! As with any haunted experience, the goal of these attractions is to find any way to scare you. One even says if someone hasn’t peed their pants by the end of the night well they didn’t do their job. So these are not for the faint of heart. Most have restrictions and will not allow children under the age of 12 to visit.
So visit or enter at your own risk. If you dare. Keep reading to see 6 of the best haunted attractions in the Charlotte North Carolina region. Have an attraction you love that I missed? Be sure to reach out to us on social media to let us know! Happy Haunting.
