Scary movies can be fun to watch around Halloween but, if children are watching, they can’t be too scary. “A Nightmare on Elm Street” and “Friday the 13th” aren’t exactly kid-friendly flicks. However, there are some spooky movies more suitable for younger audiences and a new survey reveals which ones are the most popular.
USDish has come out with a list of the most popular spooky children’s movies by state. It’s based on the most-Googled Halloween movies that are rated G or PG. The clear winner is “Scooby-Doo,” which is the most-searched in 13 states, including North and South Carolina.
Some of the other more popular spooky kids movies on the list are “Coraline,” “Ghostbusters,” “Beetlejuice,” “Hocus Pocus,” and “Coco.” Even “E.T.” shows up as a top search in four states. If you’re going to watch that one on Halloween, make sure you have plenty of Reese’s Pieces on hand.
