Running: We’re Doing It Wrong
I’m seriously considering signing up for the Egg Nog Jog. It’s a 5K run through the famous Speedway Christmas Lightshow at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Saturday, November 18th. It might actually be more fun than driving through it. The only problem is that I’ve been slack about my fitness lately and I haven’t run a 5K in a long time. As it turns out, I’ve been doing it wrong all along anyway. And you probably are, too.
According to Tech Insider, most Americans are guilty of certain running missteps, never mind our illustrious legacy of Olympic track & field dominance. We seem to have trouble with stride length/frequency, foot placement, and foot strike, all of which can lead to injuries. Apparently, we’re supposed to run more like our prehistoric ancestors:
