Washing Clothes With Vodka Can Help With Odors
Over the years I’ve heard of numerous things that can help get your laundry extra clean but this is the first time I’ve heard of using booze. Patric Richardson, self-proclaimed “laundry evangelist and host of HGTV’s new show “The Laundry Guy” says that vodka can help your clothes smell fresh. Vodka?
While I was recovering from neck surgery my mom stayed with me and did all my laundry. Unbeknownst to me, I have been doing laundry wrong for years. My mom filled me in and said that using baking soda in the washing machine will help clean your clothes. So now, I use baking soda while washing clothes cause you can’t argue with your mom. LOL!
Richardson says that if you want fresh smelling laundry, vodka will do the trick. He says vodka banishes unwanted scents thanks to it’s antibacterial properties. I had no idea vodka even had antibacterial properties. He says that vodka can remove odor from pretty much anything and he keeps a spray bottle of it by his washing machine.
If you’re worried about your clothes smelling like a bar, you’re good. Richardson says that the alcohol is odorless when it dries so your clothes will smell fresh and not all boozy.
This may make laundry festive. A shot of vodka for you, then one for the washing machine. Richardson gives more details in the video below. Guess I’m hittin’ the ABC Store later.
