Moment With Mel: When To Buy New Underwear
I am going to “overshare” in this blog. Just wanted to give you a heads up. Something happened to me at the grocery store and I think others can relate. I’m sure this has happened to others and it’s a bit embarrassing.
So I’m at the grocery store around 2 PM and it’s busy, as it’s the Friday before Mother’s Day. I’m doing my shopping with my handy list. I’m in the cereal aisle and I notice that my undies are slipping. I have on yoga pants so it’s not like my pants were baggy. Yet, every time I walk the slip a bit more.
By the end of my shopping, my undies are now bunched up around the top of my legs. WTH?! There’s no way I can pull them up while walking. I’d be walking around with my hand in my pants and I’d look like a wacko!
Once I get to my car, I put the groceries in the trunk and got into the car. I tried to pull them up some before driving off but I didn’t do such a good job.
Fast forward to today. I see an article on Popsugar about how often you should buy underwear. Ummmm….I’m thinking more often than I do since mine are sliding when I walk. According to “undie experts” if they look worn out, then they probably are. If they are stretched-out, have visible holes, stains, or they’re sagging then it’s time for new pairs. You should definitely buy new ones every 12-24 months.
The pair I wore on Friday looked fine, but I guess since they can’t stay up, it’s time for some new ones. In the Popsugar article, there’s some great choices. Personally, I like cotton undies and the Negative Underwear looks perfect. If you like something a bit more frilly, there are options.
The reason I decided to share this story is because I am sure I’m not the only one that’s been in an embarrassing situation. LOL! If you’ve dealt with this, you aren’t alone. 🙂
