Lumberton North Carolina To Open Sensory Playground March 26th
Saturday, March 26th Lumberton, NC will open a new sensory playground. The playground is being donated by Sparkling Ice® as part of a national town beautification program. It’s part of the second annual Sparkling Ice Cheers to You Town Beautification Program.
Lumberton has recently been impacted by damage from natural disasters including hurricanes and flooding and this has taken a toll on the community. This new playground will give kids the opportunity to engage in a wide variety of sensory activities. The playground Lumberton and Sparkling Ice officials hope the sensory playground will be a positive step towards rebuilding a local Lumberton neighborhood. And that it will create an uplifting and engaging area for families and children of all ages to enjoy.
“We are extremely grateful that Sparkling Ice has chosen the city of Lumberton to be a part of their Cheers to You Town Beautification program this year,” said Tim Taylor, Director of Recreation & Parks of Lumberton. “This project is appreciated by the entire community, and we look forward to seeing our local town come together through this great addition to our play lot.”
Sparkling Ice launched the Cheers to You Town Beautification Program in 2020 with a goal of bringing communities together in small towns across the country. Lumberton was chosen as one of the three communities to be a part of the 2021 program. However, the initiative was delayed due to supply issues as a result of the pandemic.
The March 26th event will be an unveiling event in Lumberton that is open to the local community. The celebration will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony and welcome speeches from local city elected officials. Following the ribbon-cutting will be family-fun activities including a DJ, photobooth, face painting, inflatables, snacks and eats from a local food truck, and refreshing Sparkling Ice-icees.
