‘Gravy Wrestling’ Is A Thing And It’s Back By Popular Demand
This is a new one! In the UK, ‘Gravy Wrestling’ is back by popular demand after taking a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic. I’ve seen Jell-O Wrestling, Mud Wrestling, and even Midget Wrestling (that’s what they call it) but never Gravy Wrestling!
According to the BBC, wrestlers showed up to take part in the 12th annual World Gravy Wrestling Championship Monday at the Rose ‘N’ Bowl Pub in Rossendale, Lancashire.
If you’re like me and unfamiliar with the event, competitors grapple in a big pool of gravy. Each bout is two-minutes. Points are scored for fancy dress, entertainment value and wrestling ability.
The event is ridiculously messy but it’s for a good cause. It raises money for East Lancashire Hospice.
Luckily, someone got video of the event on Monday, and you can see it below. I gotta admit it’s pretty nasty. I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before this event happens here in the U.S.
