A Baker Misread Request For An Elmo Cake And The Results Are Hilarious

According to Yahoo, in March Brianna Romero, @brinnicakes on TikTok, posted a ‘storytime’ about a recent bakery order that went wrong, but turned out hilarious. In her video, which has been viewed over 11 million times, the Texas baker explains what happened when she had a rush order for a cake.
Romero says someone sent her a message and asked her if she could make an ’emo cake’. The baker replied yes! She digs emo and goth and recently had been perfecting her black frosting. She agrees to make the cake.
After getting all the customers info, Romero went to work. Prior to delivering the cake, the baker reached out to the customer, asking if she wanted a number candle to go with the cake. The customer replied, ‘Yes, it’s for my granddaughter and she’s turning four.’ And THAT is when she realized the cake was supposed to be an ELMO cake, not an EMO cake. OY!
Just to make sure she was correct, Romero messaged the customer and asked what the theme of the party was going to be. The answer was ‘Sesame Street’.
Romero says that with less than an hour to go before delivery, she rushed to her local Albertsons grocery store. After begging the bakery to throw an Elmo topper on the black cake, she says she decided to give the moody dessert to the customer for free.
Folks online loved the story but wanted to see the emo Elmo cake. So Romero made another one and it’s a huge hit with folks online. It’s all over Twitter now and even celebrities are sharing pics of the cake.
All the attention is surprising Romero, but it’s brought her business! She’s had several folks ask her to make the ’emo Elmo cake’. I gotta admit that I love the cake. I’m a person with dark sense of humor, but I also dig Elmo. This may have to be my 54th birthday cake!
