College Student Transforms A Kid’s Toy Into An Awesome Bar
Over the last two weeks, we’ve all seen lots of graduation pictures on social media. Many of my friends have kids that just graduated from high school and college. A few friends have grandkids that just ‘graduated’ from kindergarten or moved up a grade in elementary school. No matter how old your kids are, if you still have toys from their youth in your attic, basement, or garage, you can re-purpose them into something fabulous.
A college student is going viral on TikTok for her creative idea on how to re-purpose a kid’s kitchen play set. According to Yahoo, Lauren Bennett, @lbennyy on TikTok, is inspiring millions of people after sharing her most recent project. She turned a children’s play kitchen set into a bar cart for herself and her roommates. And I must say, it’s an adorable and brilliant idea!
Bennett’s video is getting millions of views and lots of comments. In the video you see her take a kid’s play kitchen set, strip it, paint it a festive pink, and stock it with bottles of booze. Making the video even better is the background music she uses. It’s Dolly Parton’s ‘9 to 5’ which is a classic.
Not only does Bennett paint the play kitchen a festive color, she adds some very cool decorative touches like pink Barbie-sized cowgirl hats. The only thing I would add to this fun, re-purposed cart is some wheels. It’d be way more festive if you could push it down the hall!
For the most part, folks on TikTok are loving the creativity and recycling piece. I’m sure there are other things you could do to this type of toy, and other toys. Upcycling videos have become very popular on social media the last few years. I’m not the craftiest person, so I love seeing people share innovative ideas.
@lbennyy This is your sign to buy a play kitchen and upcycle it into a bar cart for your college apartment😁✨ #college #fyp #upcycle #diy #goodwill
