Which North Carolina Spot Is Among Best Places For Quality Of Life?
Well, it’s our friends in Raleigh, with an overall score of 6.8. Raleigh’s quality of life score rang in at 7.2 and value at 6.9. Raleigh ranked #5 right behind Honolulu. Now, Raleigh has its merits. But, I’ve been to Honolulu, and I can’t imagine the two being that close in scoring. No offense, Raleigh.
However, although the two cities’ scores were fairly close, when it came to value Honolulu scored just 4.4. That’s fair. It is a bit expensive to live there. And, I remember when we visited back in the ’90s, they told us getting things like milk or consumer goods and cars was costly. I think a gallon of milk at the time was close to $6.
What Makes This Spot Stand Out?
So, what does Raleigh have that perhaps other cities missing from the best places for quality of life not have? First, being in the research/technology triangle, Raleigh has strong job growth. The area is diverse, young, friendly and educated. The culinary scene is strong with great restaurants, breweries and craft beer and cocktail spots.
And, residents say it’s easy to make friends quickly in the welcoming environment. Plus, Raleigh offers green spaces, plenty of culture and art and summer concerts. So, if you’re looking for a new spot to relocate, consider Raleigh!
