The state of North Carolina faired pretty well in the latest Forbes Travel Guide. We continue to command attention for our incredible hotels and restaurants making the state a destination for travelers. Forbes 2022 Global Star Award Winners list ranks the top restaurants, hotels, and spas across the globe. And featured on the list are 15 properties from NC.
According to Forbes this is how properties make the list:
To find the best of the best, Forbes Travel Guide’s incognito inspectors stay at each hotel for three days and two nights, posing as ordinary guests. They test up to 900 objective, rigorous standards, from modern-day luxuries—such as whether a room is set up to enhance sleep or whether the food-and-beverage choices are health-conscious—to more traditional amenities, such as the quality of the décor and the courtesy of the staff. Seventy-five percent of a hotel’s rating relies on service, while the remaining 25 percent is determined by the quality of its facilities.
Ratings can be 5-star, 4-star, or recommended in the categories of hotels, restaurants, and spas. With destinations such as the Canary Islands, Greece, Ibiza, and Malta on this list it’s fantastic to see places closer to home as well. Luxury doesn’t have to be far away. Whether it’s in our own city for a staycation or a quick weekend getaway across the state. Every North Carolina destination on this Forbes Travel Guide is in Charlotte, Raleigh-Durham, or the Asheville Highlands area. I’ve been lucky enough to dine and stay and even enjoy the spa at several of these places. And I have to agree they are pretty fantastic! If you’re a fan of luxury make sure to add these to your bucket list.
