Attention new North Carolina residents- learn about BBQ. Not BBQ from where you are from, North Carolina BBQ. Had this woman done just that a frivolous 911 call could have been avoided. Yes, a woman called the police over pink bbq. The incident happened at Clyde Cooper’s BBQ in Raleigh. The restaurant took to social media to share the incident. And it all boils down to the woman ordering something that she didn’t entirely know what it was.
Smoked meats turn pink on the outside. That’s just the way it is. But the woman kept insisting her meal was undercooked (it wasn’t). She was offered a replacement meal but was not satisfied. You can read the review she wrote about the experience below. And she had every right to write it. But calling the cops? That has to be a false emergency call correct? I can only imagine being the officer dispatched to this situation. Or the dispatcher who took the call.
The story has since been picked up by several news outlets including the Raleigh News & Observer, Barstool Sports, and where I was first alerted to it- WRAL. One of WRAL’s sports radio personalities Joe Ovies posted the review to his Twitter account yesterday. And I could not stop reading the responses. Looking for a way to procrastinate today? I highly recommend it. See both sides of the story below as well as some of the best reactions social media had. And feeling bad about yourself? At least you didn’t call the police over pink bbq that was supposed to be pink. I can only imagine the shame this woman is feeling as the story gains more traction.
