Cam Newton Plans to Have Foot Surgery
He could potentially be back on the field in time for offseason workouts in March 2020.
Newton was still undecided about surgery as of last week. He was going to appointments where doctors were still attempting to clarify the extent and type of operation needed. After many medical opinions from across the country, he opted to move forward on surgery.
According to NFL Network’s Tiffany Blackmon, Newton plans to undergo foot surgery very soon. After being on injured reserve in November, he would’ve been eligible to return to the active roster for the first round of the playoffs but with Carolina on the outside looking in, in terms of the postseason picture, Newton will shut himself down by having surgery.
But the good news for Newton fans out there… if he were to get the procedure done in December, he could potentially be back on the field in time for offseason workouts in March according to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport.
