Atrium Health’s Dr. Drew Herman Talks COVID-19 In The Carolinas
In the past few days, it seems like we have received enough news for an entire year. The closing of businesses, the cancellation of events and the postponement of concerts. It all seems like a lot and we currently live in the digital era, for better or for worse. Like with anything, there is a bunch of unreliable news out there being circulated. The MRL Morning Show decided to talk to somebody who is reliable and somebody they trusted with their listeners.
That somebody is Doctor Drew Herman. He is the VP & Chief Medical Officer of Atrium Health Levine Children’s Hospital. He also runs Jeff Gordon’s Children Center, is an associate professor and works in the Division of Neonatology. His resume goes on and on, but let’s just say…it’s safe to say he knows what he’s talking about.
Here’s what he had to say:
Some key take aways:
- Hospitals are prepared, but call ahead if you are experiencing symptoms or have any questions
- No cure or immunity yet
- Places aren’t over reacting by shutting down, trying to slow the spread
- Symptoms are different than a common cold
