Christopher Meloni Reprising Role of Elliot Stabler in New Dick Wolf Series for NBC
Law & Order: SVU fans rejoice! Elliot Stabler is back!
Per Deadline, Christopher Meloni will be reprising the character of Det. Elliot Stabler, whom he played for 12 seasons on the popular Law & Order spinoff, in a new NBC series. So far, the untitled series has a 13-episode order and “revolves around the NYPD organized crime unit led by Stabler.”
The new show is part of producer Dick Wolf’s new multi-platform deal with NBCUniversal, which includes creating new shows for the new streaming service Peacock.
Since the new Stabler series is set in New York and taking place in the Law & Order universe, there is potential for crossover appearances from Mariska Hargitay as Olivia Benson, who was Stabler’s longtime partner on Law & Order: SVU.
A production timeline is not yet known, so while we wait, just stare at this Meloni thirst trap if you haven’t done so already.
