Mom Covers Her ICU Nurse Daughter With A Sheet So She Can Hug Her
This is one of the most moving visuals I have seen since the Coronavirus pandemic started. When I saw this photo it moved my heart and it made me think of my mom. This is something she would do!
Kelsey Kerr is a 28 year-old ICU nurse in Ohio. She’s been working 12 hour days at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati in preparation for a possible surge of COVID-19 patients. Due to her job, Kerr has been practicing social distancing from her family members.
Kerr lives close to her mom’s house and stopped by her house last Friday to pick up some prayer squares for her patients. Usually Kerr will back her car into her mom’s driveway and she’d put whatever Kerr was picking up in the trunk. Her mom, Cheryl Norton, who is 64 years-old, saw her daughter she just had to give her a hug.
Norton grabbed a sheet from her laundry basket and threw it over her daughter so that she could give her a quick hug. Kerr was wearing a mask as well. The hug was captured by a friend of Norton’s and the photo has gone viral.
This picture is uplifting and heartbreaking at the same time. It sucks that this is the only way this mom can hug her daughter. But this is where we are right now.
