Aldi Is Selling Tequila-Flavored Sausages
Happy Cinco de’ Mayo! Celebrating will be a little different this year due to the pandemic but you can still rock out some tasty food and smooth margaritas at home.
I just found out that Aldi is now selling tequila-flavored sausages and I’ll admit I’m a bit curious. The Never Any! chicken sausages come in two different flavors: Habanero Tequila and Tequila Lime. You can eat these like you would a hot dog, or put them into any Mexican dish you plan on serving for Cinco.
Not having tasted these I can’t say this for sure, but I bet these would be good in rice, black bean, corn, red pepper dish. That’s my first thought. You could also chop up the sausages and put them into refried beans for a burrito or even use chopped pieces in a taco. Before I go on, just know I’m not endorsing Aldi. LOL! They just happen to have lots of festive foods for Cinco!

Aldi also has some new chips just in time for Cinco. Phil and I tried these last week. The Crispy Taco was tasty but I wasn’t a big fan of the Queso Fundido. They also have a Mexican style street corn flavored corn chip. They were pretty good…they’d definitely be great with some guacamole. They are a little spicy, so a cooler type dip would work.

AND to top off your Aldi Cinco shopping, they now carry bottles of Margarita Wine. The bottled drinks are made with agave wine, which comes from the same plant as tequila, but contains less alcohol. The wine tastes similar to tequila but has its own distinct flavor. There are two different flavors: strawberry and classic. According to the product description, the classic tastes like “lime and lemon-curd meringue with a smooth sorbet finish of candied-orange peel.” Yum!
Whatever you plan on doing for Cinco, be safe! The upside for lots of folks this year is that they don’t have to go into the office on Wednesday since many are now working from home. A bit of a hangover is way easier to deal with while in PJ’s at home. Besides, you’ll have leftover food to eat!
