Viral Recipe Is One That Pasta Lovers Need To Make
I know I am not the only person that is a bit Pinterest crazy. I’m on there daily looking at all kinds of things. Recipes are my downfall! I bet I pin 20 recipes a week. Pinterest is great for that. You can always look back at the recipes you’ve saved to find something tasty. And since it’s cold right now, there are plenty of “comfort food” recipes to check out.
A few weeks ago I saw a recipe for “Baked Feta Pasta” on Pinterest. I saved the recipe cause it looked yummy! Pretty basic recipe to make, so even folks that don’t cook often can make it. It’s fresh cherry tomatoes, a block of feta cheese, pasta, spices and garlic. Simple!
In 2018, Finnish blogger Jenni Hayrinen shared the recipe and it went go viral in her country. It was SO popular that stores in Finland ran out of feta cheese.
Apparently now the recipe has gained a lot of attention on TikTok and has gone viral in America. The hashtag #bakedfetapasta has 52 million views and counting on TikTok.
As I mentioned, the recipe is pretty basic. Toss a block of feta, tomatoes and a bunch of olive oil together in a pan and throw it in the oven until softened, before mixing it all together with pasta and fresh basil. There are minor differences based on whose recipe you choose to follow. Some recipes call for adding some crushed red pepper flakes while other recipes call for cloves of garlic instead of minced. Whichever recipe you decide to make, the end result is yummy!
My mom is staying with me at the moment and I’ve decided to make this on her last night with me. I’ll let you know how it turns out. If you’d like to make it see the recipe and more pics here.
