North Carolina Restaurant Hires New Employee-A Robot

You’ve seen or at least heard about, the delivery robots around Charlotte. But how about getting your order taken and food delivered without human contact? It’s now a possibility. According to WITN a North Carolina restaurant owner has brought on a new employee robot. The machine is referred to as Chris and he is employed by the Wilmington establishment aRtisano Pizza & Gelato. Chris was created by a former engineer for Google. He can perform front-of-house restaurant duties including bussing tables, delivering orders, and assisting with hosting.

WITN reports that Chris also brightens the day for staff and customers by making other employees’ jobs easier as well as singing. Nothing like a singing robot to enhance your dining experience! In this day and time restaurants are having an extremely difficult time filling positions. Therefore having the option to hire a machine to help carry the load is a relief for owners. Have you ever had a service performed by a machine? This is the first restaurant employee robot I’ve heard of in North Carolina but I’m sure it won’t be the last.

I make frequent trips to the Wilmington area so I may just have to pay aRtisana Pizza a visit the next time I’m there! Wonder if I can request Chris as my server?

• Climatarian Eating Is On The Rise

   This eating regimen aims to eat for the planet’s health, with choices based on environmental impact. Even though this eating trend might still be in its infancy, it will remain relevant as younger generations in particular become more concerned about the environment. As the parameters are not rigid, it allows for a degree of flexibility depending on the preferences of participants. It’s appealing because delicious food isn’t sacrificed. A plant-based diet with crops that are good for soil can be incorporated into participation, as well as eating pasture-raised meat, buying more locally sourced and organic ingredients to reduce carbon emissions from transportation.   Wellness remains at the forefront of many people’s minds, as natural and functional foods continue to trend. Additionally, these ingredients are distinctive and tasty. As flavors and ingredients, botanicals like dandelion and lavender are gaining popularity again. Beverages, salads, and entrees contain them.
