McDonald’s Announces Improvements To Burgers And The Hamburglar Is Back
Rarely do I eat fast food but when I do, it’s usually Chick-fil-A. That said, I like McDonald’s burgers and their fries are THE best. I just don’t go often. But McDonald’s is nostalgic for me because as a kid we’d go after swim meets. And as a teenager, I was a big fan of Happy Meals. I liked the toys! We’d ‘cruise’ Franklin in Gastonia on weekend nights and go to McDonald’s. The burger chain is announcing improvements to their burgers and they’re bringing back an old-school character.
According to Food Beast, the company is planning changes that will affect their Big Mac burgers along with their McDouble burger, cheeseburger, double cheeseburger, and hamburger. The company’s goal is to implement the changes to all stores by 2024.
So, what are the big changes? The company is planning on serving softer buns that are freshly toasted, melted cheese that’s melted all the way, juicer burgers with onion added to the patties while their still on the grill, making them caramelized, and more Big Mac sauce. All of that sounds delightful!
I’m a fan of the Big Mac and the Quarter Pounder, so I’m in for the changes. But my favorite ‘improvement’ the restaurant is making is that they’re bringing back the Hamburglar! That’s right! The burger menace is back to cause some havoc. The loveable character can be seen in the chain’s latest commercials, advertising the new improvements to their burgers.
More nostalgia for those of us who remember all of the McDonald’s characters. Ronald McDonald always spooked me a bit (and I’m not afraid of clowns!) but I always loved the Hamburglar, Grimace, and Mayor McCheese. For Gen X’ers like myself, the old school 70’s crew was the best! I loved them so much that when I was around 8 years old, we had to write a creative piece for language arts class. I wrote a story called ‘The adventures of Captain Big Mac and Super Fry’.
When I was around 8 years old, I started getting allergy shots. I never liked needles, so my mom would take me to McDonald’s after my shots once a week as a treat. I guess that’s where I go the idea for the creative writing story.
As of right now, the burger changes are happening in L.A, Portland, Seattle, San Francisco, and other cities out west. Hopefully Charlotte and the surrounding area will see them soon!
