‘Pretzel Karen’ Loses It In A Grocery Store But Karma Gets The Last Laugh
After a long day, when you’re tired and hungry, you just want something easy to make for dinner. This was the situation for a woman who posted a bizarre story on Reddit about a trip to her local grocery store. The quick trip for dinner turned into a huge debacle, and I’m not sure how I would have handled this.
According to Bored Panda, u/Tactical-Pixie-1864 on Reddit was having a tough day and when she went to her local grocery store to grab some dinner, her day got worse. The woman is a EMT and after working a long day, just wanted to go home and eat. She gets to her local grocery store 10 minutes prior to the store closing. Giving the staff a heads up that she just needed one thing, she proceeds to the frozen foods aisle.
The woman grabs a frozen lasagna and as she turns to walk towards the cashier, she hears a very loud ‘Ahem’. She turns around and a woman snaps at her that she needs to go to the back and get her frozen pretzels. Explaining to the ‘pretzel woman’ that she doesn’t work at the store, she begins to walk away again. ‘Pretzel lady’ then tells the woman that she DOES work at the store and that she’s just being lazy. Again, the woman tells her she is not an employee of the store. The ‘pretzel lady’ starts mumbling about lazy people and storms off.
As the woman was leaving the store with her lasagna, the ‘pretzel lady’ gets the manager’s attention and says, ‘There she is! That’s the lazy b**ch that wouldn’t help me.’ The angry ‘pretzel lady’ then follows the woman outside. As she’s leaving the store, the manager tries to get ‘pretzel Karen’s’ attention. She continues to follow the woman outside.
This ‘pretzel Karen’ followed the woman and stood in front of her car so that she couldn’t leave. Are you kidding me? Numerous times she told this ‘pretzel Karen’ that she isn’t an employee of the store! ‘Pretzel Karen’ refuses to move and is screaming obscenities at the woman.
Again, the manager is trying to get the ‘pretzel Karen’s’ attention. She tells the manager that she’s handling his ‘lazy employee since he’s too much of a b**ch to do it.’ The manager tries again to speak to the woman and she starts screaming and cussing at him. The manager then locks the store door, puts the closed sign on the door, and pulls the shades down.
‘Pretzel Karen’ continues to scream at the woman in the car. She then rolls down her window and lets the woman know that the store just closed and that she can’t get her groceries now. The ‘Karen’ then ran towards the store door and the woman drove off with her lasagna.
Much love to this woman! Not to sound too ‘Gastonia’ but I would not have been as calm. When I’m tried and hungry, I get annoyed quickly. That said, I cannot believe that someone would do this. Stupidity at its finest! Karma is the true winner in this story! The ‘pretzel Karen’ acted like a wacko and ended up not getting her groceries. My gut says that she’s probably not allowed back in that store. At least I hope she’s not!
